So that's it. One resignation put in today - 4 weeks notice to both abide by company rules and allow management time to find a replacement so as not to hurt my team too much. All good. Well, so I thought...
Come the afternoon, and I get told that "it would be in the best interests of all involved" if I finished up this friday instead - with pay in lieu. Go Figure! The wiley ways of senior middle management I suppose... Not all that keen on the idea of leaving my teamate stranded by himself for several weeks, but I'll take 3 weeks paid leave that won't affect my current leave level (and hence payout amount!).
All this means that my "Final Day" night out that was supposed to be on the 14th of September will no longer be my final day at work... oh well, 'dems da breaks' I guess. Should still be a top night though, so if you're in the area...

It's interesting to read your old blog now. I still remember you walked around in our office to farewell to everyone. A year later, your replacement has left as well.
